Office
Accountant
The only accounting seat. You keep the books, the job cost, and the payroll for a small manufacturer. There is no department behind you.
The Work
- Keep the general ledger, the bank reconciliation, and the monthly close.
- Run accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing.
- Job-cost each module so we know if the work made money before the job is forgotten.
- Run payroll, or run the payroll service and check it before anyone is paid.
- Track sales tax and the records a lender or a tax filing will ask for.
- Tell the owner when a job, a vendor, or the cash is going the wrong way. Do not wait for year end.
You Have Done This
- You have closed the books for a small company, a contractor, or a manufacturer.
- You have done job cost, not only categorized expenses.
- You have run payroll or reviewed a payroll service closely enough to catch a mistake.
- You can work without a controller checking your entries. You are the accounting person.
